<nettime> privacy policy

The protection of your data is important to us. We do not store any data other than emails which you send to the moderators or to the nettime-l mailing list. We only use cookies which are necessary for basic operation of the website. We have no web analytics tools and do not pass on any data to third parties. However, please bear in mind that data transmission on the Internet can generally have security gaps. Full protection against access by third parties is not always possible.

If you contact us by e-mail, the messages you send and the data you provide will be deleted one week after the process has been completed. If you subscribe to the mailing list, we verify (via an automatic confirmation email) that you are the owner of the email address provided, and that you agree to receive the mails sent to the list. We store the entered name and e-mail address.

Email you send to the list will be distributed to all list members, and will be published in the nettime-l archive. No other processing or disclosure to third parties will take place. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. We do not store anything other than the emails you send to the list. These are stored indefinitely for the public nettime-l archive.

However, removing emails from the public archives is generally not something we do. Article 17(3) of the GDPR includes an exception to the right of erasure for this situation, and Article 85 suggests that this also applies to situations where, e.g., another user has quoted parts of an email you sent to the list under journalistic and artistic freedom. However, if you feel certain that something ought to be removed, please get in touch with the moderators.

Please contact a member of the board via the mail address nettime-l-owner@lists.nettime.org in order to receive information about stored data, to have data corrected or to exercise your right to have data deleted. If you have reason to believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any way, we would be pleased to receive a brief notification so that we can promptly comply with your rights. Of course, you can also contact the data protection authority. You can find the contact details of the data protection authority at https://www.dsb.gv.at/.
