The only part of your text where I might disagree,
Jean-Noel, is that the future lies in scaling down toward simple agriculture. Scaling down, yes, that's a must, but it will still take effective forms of social organization and new, non-polluting energy sources to face all this without massive human die-offs.

Modern massive-scale agriculture necessitate high tech tools, a lot of low-cost energy, and carbone-energy dependant products like pesticides or fertilizers. Nothing sustainable. Moreover, the most massive agricultural tools accelerate the current erosion and disappearance of the soil. The new climate system alternance drought/flooding increases this erosion. Small scale farming and rural communities are the future, when oil and gas will be so expensive. Such mutation has started. In Europe, there is a growing escape from big cities to small territories, with desire of self-sustainable life, but in solidarity networks, and the Covid was a trigger.

Look at the great success of the french non-profit organisation " L'atelier Paysan". They started ten years ago with about 6 open-source DIY organic farming machines, and they show now more than 80 differents machines, all designed for DIY, recycling, low-cost, low energy, farming.

They have organised hundreds training courses and workshops everywhere in Europe, and they start now to work in other continents.

Their book, in the Anthropocene collection from Le seuil, "Reprendre la terre aux machines", "Taking back the land from the machines", ( https://www.seuil.com/ouvrage/reprendre-la-terre-aux-machines-l-atelier-paysan/9782021478174 ) has a huge success, and could easily be translated to english.
