PRODUCTION AND 
COLABORATION GRANTSÂ  - MECAD\MEDIA CENTRE Dâ??ART I DISSENYJune 
10th, 1999Â 
 
MECAD\Media Centre d'Art i Disseny, 
located in Sabadell - Barcelona, opens the application period for production and 
colaboration grants addressed to professionals in the different fields of 
Electronic Art and Digital Design. Candidates to these grants can apply under 
the following conditions: 
 
TYPES OF GRANTS: - Grants for the 
production of MECAD projects.- Grants for the production of the 
candidatesâ?? own projects.- Grants for the collaboration of MECAD in 
the candidatesâ?? own projects.- Grants for collaboration in theorical 
research. Â 
 
SPECIALISATION AREAS. Applications 
must present research and/or production projects related to any of these fields: 
1. CD-ROM art (or art in any other digital system) or web art 2. 
Computer animation/computer graphics3. Digital 
photography 
 
GRANT PERIOD AND ENDOWMENT. These 
grants are destined to the period between October 1st, 1999 and February 29th, 
2000, with the possibility to choose part-time or full-time work. Endowment 
varies according to the type of grant that candidates apply for. 
 
APPLICATION 
REQUIREMENTS.University degree (Bachelor in Fine Arts, Audiovisual 
Communication, etc.) or other professional studies equivalent to this level of 
education. 
 
Specialisation in 
interactive/multimedia art/design, on-line and off-line, and/or computer 
animation.
 
Technical ability required to carry 
out the project
 
Good knowledge of Macintosh and PC 
platforms, and of the software required to develop the project.
 
In case of computer animation 
projects, the mastering of Silicon Graphics platforms and the application Maya 
will be taken into account.
 
Professional experience, artistic 
career and personal projects will also be taken into account.

application period is due on July 10th, 1999.
