Syndicate: FRIDGE'S & STREETS

Dear all,

Tomorrow Friday 23 February i perform for the first time FRIDGE'S & STREETS
at the university of Ghent.

It's a sound-installation of 16 speakers and 4 phone answering machines.
They fit in a cube of 2.5 meter. On the speakers sounds from fridge's and
streets I recorded last week in Ghent.

This installation will be in the university building entrance Rozier ( hall
slavische talen ) close to " de Boekentoren " ( the tower for books )

May I ask for your help ?

Can you call between 10 and 16 hour belgian time ( 4 until 10 hour USA-
 N.Y. , 9 until 15 hour gmt, 12 until 18 hour Russia , 18 until 24 hour
Japan ) to one of those 4 numbers connected to one of the answering
machines.

When you are in Belgium:

If you are north of de boekentoren or Ghent call 09 264 37 46
If you are east of de boekentoren or Ghent call 09 264 39 07
If you are south of de boekentoren or Ghent call 09 264 39 09
If you are west of de boekentoren or Ghent call 09 264 39 10

When you are not in Belgium:

If you are north of Belgium: call ..32 9 264 37 46
If you are east of Belgium: call ..32 9 264 39 07
If you are south of Belgium: call ..32 9 264 39 09
If you are west or Belgium: call ..32 9 264 39 10

- can you tell where you call from ?
- can you tell what you have in your refrigerator ? ( = FRIDGE'S ) or
what you see out of your window ? ( = STREETS )

you can speak in your native language.

you have 1 minute to talk.

If you have to work ( go to school, go shopping, ... ) and can't be close to
your fridge ... no problem, make some notes and call from your office
 public telephone, gsm, ... ) between 10 and 16 a clock Belgian time ( = gmt
+ 1 )

You find all info at:

Please spread this message between your relatives, forward it to your
friends ? . the more call's we have the more sound i can create to listen
to.

Many thanks,

Ward Weis.
