[Apologies for cross-posting]

The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the launch of a
new commission by Vuk Cosic, http://www.thisistherealmatrix.com as part of its
pre-opening programme B4B.

The website - an ASCII version of the original Warner Brother's site - was
created in conjunction with the screening of The Matrix at Tyneside Cinema in
Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England on January 30th, 2001. The commission is part of 'A
History of the Future' - a series of science fiction films, exhibitions and
events throughout the region. Additionally, a computer to access the website and
a direct telephonic link to Vuk Cosic are available at the BALTIC offices,
housed in St. Mary's Church, The Gateshead Quays Visitors Centre. For more
information about 'A History of the Future' please visit the website of our
partner organization, Northern Architecture at www.north.org.uk/future

BALTIC is the major new centre for contemporary art, situated on the south bank
of the River Tyne, Gateshead, in the North of England, and is scheduled to open
Autumn 2001. For more information or to join our mailing list contact BALTIC via
http://www.balticmill.com or phone 44 191 478 1810. This is the first web-based
artist's commission by BALTIC and precipitates the redesign of BALTIC's website,
scheduled to go online later this month.

http://www.thisistherealmatrix.com is best viewed with Internet Explorer.
