esentiale:
culturale noi, dupa caderea regimului comunist?
Â
â Influenteaza complexul societatii ex-comuniste relatia dintre
artistii din Est si cei din Vest?
Â
â Este gravura in Europa de Est inca legata de raspandirea
informatiilor in favoarea unui sistem politic sau impotriva lui?
Â
â Este functia utilitara, prin tehnica, avand in vedere mesajul
subversiv, responsabila pentru scoaterea gravurii din âmainstreamâ?
Â
â Vazuta doar in limitele tehnicii, este gravura mai putin
importanta decat celelalte forme ale artei contemporane?

Â
Â
This edition of IEEB will focus on socio-political issues in
Central and Eastern Europe in relation to the Western ones, highlighted by
image multiplication techniques and will address several key questions:
Â
â What are (if there are) the conceptual and aesthetic
differences and similarities between
Â
these areas reflected through the East -West paradigm?
Â
â Does contemporary printmaking reflect its socio-political past
and does the westernization
Â
of Eastern Europe after the fall of the communist regime
contribute to the definition of
Â
a new cultural identity?
Â
â Does the complex of being a former communist society influence
the relationship between
Â
Eastern and Western artists?
Â
â How is printmaking in Eastern Europe still linked to its
useful function of multiplying and
Â
spreading information in favor of a political system or against
it?
Â
â Is the utilitarian function through technique, even
considering its subversive message,
Â
responsible for cutting off printmaking from the âmainstreamâ?
Â
â Seen merely as a technique why is printmaking less important
than the other techniques
Â
of contemporary art, which are in fact not regarded as such?
