  On the Idea of Europe in the Arts
  A debate chaired by Hans Ulrich Obrist featuring Dan Perjovschi 
  Saturday 15 March 2008, 5 pm
  Chelsea College of Art & Design, London
  Celebrated Romanian artist joins international debate On the Idea of Europe in the Arts chaired by Hans Ulrich Obrist. The event is part of the London Festival of Europe 2008 organised by European Alternatives. 
  Dan Perjovschi is a visual artist mixing drawing, cartoon and graffiti in artistic pieces drawn directly on the walls of museums and art spaces around the world. His drawings comment on current political, social and cultural issues. He has played an active role in the development of the Romanian civil society, and has fostered exchange between the Romanian and international art scenes. Dan Perjovschi is the recipient of the George Maciunas Prize in 2004. 
  Selected solo exhibitions: What Happens to US?, MoMa New York (2007), I am not Exotic I am Exhausted, Kunsthalle Basel (2007), The Room Drawing, Tate Modern London (2006), Naked Drawings, Ludwig Museum, Koln (2005). 
  Selected group exhibitions: Think with the Senses - Feel with the Mind. Art in the Present Tense, Venice Biennale 2007, Magelanic Cloud, Centre Pompidou, Paris (2007), The Vincent, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (2006). 
  Dan Perjovschi's participation in the London Festival of Europe 2008 is supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in London.
