PhD student seeking Amsterdam house-sitting
**********
From: "Caroline Grillot" <carolinegrillot@hotmail.com>

Dear all,

I am currently pursuing a PhD in the department of Anthropology at
Macquarie University (NSW, Australia). My research topic concerns
cross-border marriages between Chinese men and Vietnamese women in border
zones (Guangxi/Quang Ning; Yunnan/Lao Cai). For the last year of my
candidature, I will stay at the Free University of Amsterdam under a
cotutelle agreement. I intend to submit my thesis around April 2011 so
these last months will be more than crucial for me.

I have been trying for several months already to organize accommodation in Amsterdam but have not been successful so far. I rely on a scholarship
and have a family to support. So ideally, I would rather opt for a
house-sitting in Amsterdam to avoid high costs and the trouble to rent an empty place and start everything from 0, just for a six/eight months stay.
It would also be possible to swap a place with my apartment in Kunming
(Yunnan, China).

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion, any contact or any
proposition related to accommodation opportunities in Amsterdam. My dates
are mid-October 2010 to May-June 2011.

Just to let you know, my university cannot help me here, and I have
registered on several web-sites such as sabbaticalhomes.com too.
For more information, you can contact me off-list.

Again, I am sorry to bother everyone with my own personal issues but this
is one of my last hopes.

With many thanks for your understanding,

Caroline Grillot
