[Nettime-nl] transmediale.09 online

Hei folks --

for those of you who are not going to be in Berlin next week for
transmediale.09, there is a robust streaming and IRC presence that I
would cordially invite you to check out ::

Peering beyond the alarmist scenarios in the often contradictory
global warming debate, transmediale.09 examines the artistic, cultural
and societal consequences that the imminent collapse of the polar ice
barrier may trigger. How will climate change induce global culture
change?

As part of its online programme, Berlin's festival for art and digital
culture *transmediale.09 DEEP NORTH* will offer a selected package of
live video streams from the House of World Cultures in Berlin from 28
January to 1 February 2009. Our streaming programme is now online. For
details of where and what we will stream please visit:

http://www.transmediale.de/en/transmediale09-streams-help-page-en

Dedicated transmediale IRC channels provide platforms for extended
discussion leading up to and during the actual event, giving the
remote community a powerful voice and a chance to engage with the
sessions in Berlin. For details how to get involved (we're online
now!) please visit:

http://www.transmediale.de/en/transmediale09-irc

Free feel to pass on this information to anyone you think might be
interested in interacting with the festival, but cannot make it to
Berlin - it is the next best thing to being there!

Cheers,
John
