    4th Fair of Culture





Media Art te gast op 4th Fair of Culture in Zagreb, Kroatië

Met meer dan negen uren film en video van het Media Art Festival 07,  
een speciaal ontwikkeld film en video programma uit het eigen archief  
en lezingen is Media Art actief op de ‘4th Fair of Culture’ in Zagreb  
van 13 t/m 16 december.

Naast het hele fim en videoprogramma van het Media Art Festival 07,  
heeft Media Art een speciaal film en videoprogramma samengesteld  
vanuit het eigen archief met de titel FUTURE LIVES. Hierin zijn ook  
werken opgenomen die eerder als installatie op het Media Art Festival  
07 te zien waren, als Rhubarber Boy van Ulu Braun (Berlijn) en The  
Boy in the Attic van Bipolar (prijswinnaar van de Friese Multi Media  
Art Festival Award en Noordelijk Film Festival, categorie semi- 
professionals). De lezingen die Media Art geeft gaan over  
initiatieven en samenwerking met jong talent en studenten uit  
Friesland, Nederland en wereldwijd en hun werk vertegenwoordigd in  
onze tentoonstellingen, projecten, artist in residence programma’s, etc.

FUTURE LIVES

Hoe zien we ons hedendaagse leven in de toekomst? Zal het hetzelfde  
zijn? Wat is de kwaliteit van ons leven en waar zoeken we naar? Is  
onze natuur nog ‘iets wat’ ongerept of is dan echt alles  
gecultiveerd? Zeker zal zijn dat fictie, virtueel en werkelijkheid  
een onlosmakelijk verbonden onderdeel is van ons dagelijks leven.  
Realiteit, toekomstverwachtingen, opnieuw uitgevonden iconen,  
toekomstige ziektes en fantasie zijn onderwerpen van de dag.

De ‘Fair of Culture’ wordt georganiseerd door de universiteit van  
Zagreb, welke dit jaar 50 jaar bestaat. De ‘Fair of Culture’ wordt nu  
voor de vierde keer gerealiseerd. Dit internationale evenement toont  
muziek, film, multimedia, kunst, performances, deelay en veejay  
cultuur, architectuur en design, theorie en vele lezingen en

 Media Art is guest at 4th Fair of Culture in Zagreb.

Media Art is invited at the University of Zagreb as part of the 4th  
Fair of Culture, which takes place from 13-16 December 2007. www.sczg.hr

With more then nine hours film and video from the Media Art Festival  
2007 and a special made programme dealing with the theme Future is  
what we present at the 4th Fair of Culture. For the screening we made  
a selection from our archives, with the title FUTURE LIVES. Next we  
will give lectures about our co-operation with young talents and  
students worldwide to promote their work in exhibitions, artists in  
residence projects, screenings, etc.

FUTURE LIVES

How do you see your present lives in the future? Will it be the same?  
What will the quality be and where are we looking for? Is our nature  
untouched or purely man made? For sure, fiction, virtual and real  
live, is part of our future days. Reality, whished lives, re-invented  
icons, future illness and fantasy will be daily items.
