+ 3d teapot screening night

The"Utah Teapot", well known from any 3d software, is represented in all
kind of demos and is even added to the primitive objects collection in 3D
modeling softwares. But why using this object for Computer Graphics
rendering? Why this specific 1974 Melitta teapot has become such an icon of
computer graphics? Exploring the question is maybe more than just a strange
investigation in 3d modeling softwares; it is the technological but also the
cultural quest of digital media, its history and logics.

MR.xpo 07

MediaRuimte, platform for digital art & architecture by LAb[au] presents:

MR.xpo 07 about " DeSIGN as process _ Processed deSIGN "

Artist-in-residence: Sébastien Wierinck

In the context of Cycle 2 / 3
" To be structured: about inFORMation architecture "

The On-site project , a " Prototype for programmatic urban furniture", by
Sébastien Wierinck presents a very specific view on designing objects.
Focusing on the process to underline the aesthetics and meaning of shape,
this exhibition links an interactive installation, done in collaboration
with Lab[au], with design furnitures, prints and realtime computer generated
images. On-site express itself as a system rather than an object, expanding
this philosophy of design into the pure audiovisual screen-artefacts, the
designer will present also a collection of soundreactive objects.

Exposed works by Sébastien Wierinck:

LAb[au]'s project: " Polygon Den[c]ity "
published in the book: " Baby Change ",
by Prisme editions [ http://www.prisme-editions.be/ ]

polygon - basic unit of any 3d modeling program / electronic space
density: spatial and sonic concept
dance: music
city: architecture

The project focuses on the specificities in the conception and production of
electronic space as a new field of investigation in spatial constructs
combining codes / language drawn from communication and information
sciences. The title refers to the interrelation between ' music ' and ' the
city ' - its structures - and its flows ' density ', qualifying contemporary
architectural and sonic concepts.
