[Nettime-nl] SCREEN LABORATORY

22 May // [special event]:
SCREEN LABORATORY
Clips and small talk hosted by Bart Rutten
and Sami Kallinen, 21:00, 4 fl.

Armed with a library of clips covering all corners of
audiovisual culture Bart Rutten (Montevideo [Nederlands
Instituut voor Mediakunst]) and Sami Kallinen
(Montevideo & OT301) will discuss the screen as a boundary.
The clips address the spaces on both sides
of the dividing canvas/glass and put the emphasis on the
screen itself with various strategies. Material by such
filmmakers and artists as Stan Brakhage, Zucker and Zucker,
Buster Keaton, Peter Campus, Marines Boezin,
Douglas Davis, Len Lye, Vito Acconci, Robert Goldman,
Willy Walker, Servaas, Jean-Luc Godard, David Cronenberg,
Chris Cunningham among others will be presented in
a non-academic evening of small talk, improvised theories
and cold beer.
