<x-rich>Late July 2001

    Hello

The months seem to fly by don't they?

Just back from this modest American tour with Plastiq Phantom which
was hugely entertaining. A dramatic start to this trip in Mexico City led
to a night in a Police Station and my hotel room resembling a scene from
Miami Vice as hotel staff stole my equipment from my room and it was strip
searched but all was finally resolved almost happily. My show is now
streamed on line if you want to listen:

it is divided in 2 files....

I am also intrigued that it seems a film biopic has already been
released about my life. "High Heels and Low Lifes" has just emerged in
cinemas here in the UK, directed by the same man as that other high quality
post deconstructed art movie "Mr Bean." Does this story line sound familar
to you: about a London based electronic musician who records scanned mobile
phone conversations and then constructs live performances and installations
within an ambient experimental background...I should be flattered I suppose.

If you are London based or passing through it is well worth
checking out the Elektronic festival at the Barbican in London between
13-18 October too. It will feature live performances of Stockhausen works,
Aphex Twin performing, Irmin Schmidt, Jon Hassell and others. Should be
very intriguing.

Anyone who is hard of hearing may be interested to note that I am
currently working on some mixes of AC/DC for Dutch television too. I
actually saw their last ever performance with their late singer Bon Scott
when I was 14 years old. I have since recovered!

Now, off to the other side of the globe to Australia.

    Ciao

    Robin
