Re: <nettime> global poverty


It occurs to me that a solution to offshore-banking and the consequential
lack of tax-revenue and hampered national sovereignties, is somewhat
counter-intuitive: a restriction/regulation of encryption, on which the
offshore-industry depends. It seems we need to push for a universal
openness/access to all information at the lesser expense of an older
assumption of personal-liberties... or else, only the rich will remain
increasingly powerful and anonymous.
