The term cybernetics made sense for the enemy detection systems of a 
second world war technology stack.

I am not so sure it holds much practical relevance for contemporary 
digital theory.

Norbert Wiener died in the 19-sixties. Cybernetics was his Farbenlehre. 
His most relevant cultural reverberation may be the Club of Rome report 
1972. The Apollo tech,  the lunar modules , all this could still be 
understood in the analogue cybernetics terms of feedback because it 
remains proto-digital.

Even more, it now confronts us in an age that is pervaded by so-called “genAI,” where several of its concepts are easily attributable to phenomena that, in such concretion, it was unable to really anticipate.
