<nettime> a radio call - one more week of summer radio 1:1 in berlin

For one last summer week, the media experiment radio 1:1 will be
listenable on Berlin ether with its unusual program-mix.  An
unfiltered, slightly excentric mixture of readings,  lectures,
experimental music and Djsets. Without compromise, it puts Quality
before Quota and approaches the something like public education from an
unusual angle.

Departing from earlier radio projects (reboot.fm, juniradio, radioriff) and
unlike classical open channels or free radios, radio 1:1 is proposing
a new kind of "dokuradioformat" consisting in liveproductions
of local cultural producers, recordings of cultural events, and an 
international
program of podcasts, streama and downloads. It is dedicated to the
focus of an international intellectual discourse, as well as new styles
in music, radio art, freeform radio and pirate radio. radio 1:1 is naming
itself a "free" cultural radio because it is open for access from various
cultural niches and listenable for everyone.

For the first time in europe various technologies were implemented
at once: podcasts via FM, automated recording in clubs, mobile
recording teams at cultural events, internet based transmission, voice
over ip and a DJ programm which has no equivalent on the berlin
spectrum so far. Finally a podcast program was initiated which
can be called unique in its offerings. It reaches a quickly growing
audience reflecting a worldwide intereest, to receive the plurality
of berlin cultural production. This stream of frequent program
production will be continued, even after the temporary
FM license weill be gone again, as a podcast and stream.

This is still made possible trough the friendly support of Tesla and
Bootlab e.v.from a small radiopstudio at the podewil'scher Palais.

We want to highlight explicitly that from the aspect of infrastructure
and content, there are no obstacles anymore for a full FM frequency
in Berlin-Brandenburg.

Radio 1:1, das neuartiges, "freies" Kulturradioformat in Berlin geht
in seine letzte Sendewoche.  Ein Mix aus Veranstaltungsaufzeichnungen,
DJ-Sets und Vorlesungen zeigt die Moeglichkeiten der Radiozukunft auf.

Noch eine letzte Sommerwoche wird das Medienexperiment Radio 1:1 im
Berliner Aether mit seinem aussergewoehnlichem Programm-mix  zu hoeren
sein.  Eine ungefilterte, eigenwillige Mischung aus Lesungen,
Vortraegen, experimenteller Musik und Djsets, die kompromisslos
Qualitaet vor Quoten stellt und das Thema "Volksbildung" von
ungewoehnlicher Seite angeht.

Ausgehend von frueheren Radioprojekten (Reboot.fm, Juniradio,
Radioriff) und ungleich klassischer Offener Kanaele oder freier Radios
stellt Radio 1:1 ein neuartiges "Dokuradioformat" aus Livebeitraegen
lokaler KulturproduzentInnen,  Aufzeichnungen von
Kulturveranstaltungen  sowie einem internationalen Programm von
Podcasts, Streams und Downloads zur Diskussion.
Es widmet sich den Schwerpunkten eines internationalen intellektuellen
Diskurses, sowie neuen Musikstilen, Radiokunst, Freeform und
Piratenradio. Radio 1:1 nennt sich ein "freies" Kulturradio weil es
fuer die verschiedensten kulturellen Nischen und Orte zugriffs-offen
und fuer jeden zu hoeren ist.

Zum ersten Male in Europa kamen verschiedene Techniken zum Einsatz:
Podcasts ueber UKW, automatisierte Aufzeichnungen in Clubs, Mobile
recording Teams bei den Veranstaltern, Internetbasierte Uebertragung,
Voice over Ip und ein DJ Programm das dem Status der KlubMetropole
Rechnung traegt und im Berliner Aether seines Gleichen sucht.
Weiterhin wurde ein Podcastprogramm initiert, das in Zusammenstellung
und Form einzigartig genannt werden kann. Es stoesst auf ein stark
wachsendes weltweites Interesse und hilft dabei die Vielfalt Berliner
Kulturproduktion direkt und unverfaelscht zu vermitteln. Dieser Strom
an regelmaessigen Programmbeitraegen wird als Podcast und Stream auch
nach der Zuerteilung einer temporaeren Radiofrequenz weitergefuehrt
werden.

Dies ist weiterhin moeglich mit der freundlichen Unterstuetzung von
TESLA und Bootlab e.V. von einem kleinen Radiostudio im Podewil'schen
Palais aus.  Wir moechten ausdruecklich darauf hinweisen, dass damit
von der Infrastruktur und von den Inhalten her einem eigenen freien
Radio mit Vollfrequenz in Berlin-Brandenburg nichts mehr im Wege
steht.
