<nettime> call for submissions, NYC-IMC newspaper for S8 protest


the New York chapter (http://nyc.indymedia.org/) of the IMC
(http://www.indymedia.org) is preparing a newspaper to be handed out at
the protests during the United Nations millenium summit.

SUBMIT ARTICLES, EDITORIALS, INTERVIEWS, ILLUSTRATIONS, OR PHOTOGRAPHY

All submissions should be relevant to the policies and 
actions of the United Nations.  For example:
--the lack of democracy in the U.N. 
--Security Council having their own summit, 
--structure of power at UN,
--contracts between the U.N. and international coporations( Global 
Compact), 
--the Tribunals for war crimes, 
--ratification of the INternational Criminal Court,  
--a spotlight on one of the many speakers during S8, 
--feature on a UN NGO that is protesting and ask them why;
--the growing international activist movement, 
--or the U.N.'s relationship to the International Monetary Fund.
--Radical vs. reformist editorial
--Feature on an Initiative, ie Global Youth Action Network 
--World Forum with NGO's and IFI's. Costs mega bucks to get in. Sept 
4-10th. Ana can get free tix if anyone want to cover.
--Alternative conference
--International Forum on Globalization
--Each specific actionfrom S6-S8
--Profile on a corporation that signed onto Global Compact, ie NIKE or 
SHELL
--Article on S26
--Article on S11
--Article on the NAB protests S23
--Hassle given organizers over permits. [Last minute claims of "lost"
applications, dragging along for over a month, then last minute refusal
to grant march permit, due to traffic concerns. This happened today, I
will post more shortly.]


SUBMIT ALL WORK for the NEWSPAPER to 
imcprintsubmissions@hotmail.com. The 
deadline is Tuesday Sept 5, 2000.

Writing should be sent as a Rich Text Format(RTF) 
attachment. No longer than 
800 words.

Photography and Illustrations should be sent as a JPEG, 300 
dpi, and
approximately 4" x 6".
